Wow, can't believe that our journey has come to an end! On Wednesday morning we had our last sail from Trellis Bay back to Manuel Reef Marina at Sea Cow Bay, just West of Road Town on Tortola.
We packed up our belongings, returned the rented scuba gear, finished our debrief with the Charter Co. and said goodbye to "Chachaa". We took a taxi to the ferry terminal and made the trek back to St. Thomas, staying there for the night and did a little souvenir shopping before catching our flight back home the following day (btw, if you're ever looking for a relatively inexpensive hotel for a night or two in St. Thomas, the Bunker Hill is a great family-owned place with a fantastic resto called the "SugarCane Grill"...highly recommend it!).

We started planning this trip last May and would definitely say that it was an incredible experience to undertake. The research, the sailing lessons, the shopping lists, the packing, the anticipation, the time off work, the expense - all of it was totally worth the family memories created and the adventure we enjoyed.
Highlights of the trip include: the dolphins, turtles, snorkeling, sailing, spending a day with Boots & Elle, beautiful turquoise-coloured waters in tranquil bays, surfing, fishing and more!!

Would we do it again? Hell ya!!
Next time we would charter a catamaran, simply for the amount of space that they offer, compared to the monohull. The cats are also more stable ( = better sleeping at night) and can go into shallower waters. I'd return to sail the BVIs in a heartbeat as there are so many different islands to explore and things to do. They are beautiful and perfectly spaced apart.
Our next sailing adventure...maybe the Bahamas and swimming the pigs at the Exumas? Stay tuned!
