Landed at JFK in good time and made our way directly to the gate for the next leg of the journey. Flight wasn't full so we were able to get two rows of 3 seats for ourselves.
Next came an unexpected 2hr delay on the tarmac due to "metering" issues from the weather. I have no idea what that means but the personal seatback TVs kept us occupied.
So three hours later and we landed in sunny St. Thomas!! It was exciting dropping down to the runway as we could see the beautiful sandy beaches and turquoise waters.
Picked up 6 of our 7 bags. They conveniently left one at JFK for us - which will be delivered to Road Town tomorrow afternoon. A slight pain but honestly, I'm happy that it was only 1!
A quick taxi ride to our hotel, found our bathing suits and hit the pool to cool off from the 85 degree heat...so nice!
Enjoyed a late jerk chicken roadside lunch (see the grill below) poolside and enjoyed watching the sun set over the green hilltops.
Tomorrow we're up early and will ferry over to Tortola, taxi to Sea Cow Bay and check-in to the 'Chachaa' - our new comfy home on the seas for the next few weeks.
See you in the BVIs!
